What are the opening hours of The UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages to the public?
10am-4pm on weekdays. This is for all matters concerning registration and mortgage of UK aircraft. We are available by telephone (0330 022 1917) between 9am and 5pm weekdays.
What if the sum secured by the mortgage does not appear in the deed?
If the sum secured by the mortgage is not reflected in the deed itself, for example where reference is made in the deed to a separate loan agreement or facility, then a copy of the relevant part of the other agreement showing the sum secured should also be provided.
Can I find out what, if any, finance has been recorded over an aircraft prior to purchase or financing?
You can carry out a mortgage search with the Aircraft Registration. In general we can accept your request by phone, fax, letter or e-mail. Please note this search does not include liens over aircraft or unpaid landing fees, but does include entries in the UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages where the aircraft has been used as security for mortgage or loan.
There is a fee for this service, see Forms and Fees for the current details.
Will a mortgage search tell me how much money it outstanding on an aircraft mortgage?
No, the search shows details of the time and date of the mortgage, the mortgagor, mortgagee and registered owner. You may also request a certified copy of any entries on the Mortgage Register at the time of conducting the search, forms and fees, this will show the original sum secured of the mortgage.
Can I conduct a search of the UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages over an aircraft that is not registered in the UK?
Yes, any aircraft can be searched if you have the details of the aircraft type and serial number.
