If you are planning to buy an aircraft, or make a loan against one, we advise you to conduct a search of the UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages beforehand. A search of the Register will reveal whether the aircraft is the subject of any registered mortgages. Basic information on whether an aircraft is the subject of a registered mortgage is given on the G-INFO site against each aircraft. However, to get full information on any registered mortgages a mortgage search must be carried out.
Searches are carried out by the CAA on request, and subject to the payment of a fee.
Please note: the Register does not provide information on liens or outstanding debts such as landing fees.
How to request a search of the Register
Using form CA350
Search requests are made using form CA350.
You will need to complete the form and return it to the CAA’s Aircraft Registration Section, along with the appropriate fee. This can be paid by entering your debit/credit card details on the form. The completed form can be emailed to aircraft.reg@caa.co.uk .
The fee is specified in Forms and Fees and also the current CAA scheme of charges.
Turn-around time
We will endeavour to return the results of your search on the same day as your request is made, or the following day. The search includes details of the registered owner, any mortgages entered on the UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages, the parties involved and the date and time of entry.
Opening hours
The Register of Aircraft Mortgages is open between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00 on working days. Searches can only be carried out during these periods. Searches received outside of these hours will be carried out as soon as possible once the Register is open again.
