Speaking a Common Language: A terminology framework for AI
Terms relating to AI are often conflated or confused, especially in the media.
There are three central terms that are foundational to our understanding and appreciation of this topic:
• Automation
• Autonomy
• Artificial Intelligence
This paper introduces the CAA’s interpretation of the terms and discusses why it is important for a common understanding of these, in preparation for our upcoming Strategy for AI.
