Leading research into the aviation market

Since 1968 a series of surveys has been undertaken to obtain information about air travellers and the determinants of the travel market.

The surveys have included questions on journey purpose, final and intermediate surface origins/destinations, means of transport to and from airports, route flown, country of residence and income.

This information is used in assessing the type of market served by airports and consequently for forecasting air transport demand and for planning airport facilities.

Reports containing a selection of summary tables can be accessed free of charge from our website. For a fee, more detailed datasets can be obtained on request. These datasets start from £380 + VAT. Please contact us on aviation.intelligence@caa.co.uk for more information and a quote.

This section contains survey reports, information about the survey's methodology and how to obtain more detailed data.
