    We are proud to offer a range of apprenticeship standards to our new and existing colleagues, which address our future talent needs as well as developing our existing colleagues. Our apprenticeships range from 18 months – 4 years and span a range of standards including Data, Leadership, Regulation and Professional Support Services. 

    All our apprentices receive the support of a Development Coach to help gain a nationally recognised qualification as well as access to a range of tools, from workshops to digital courses which will help you along the way. Every project and role you take on will be a chance to learn and grow. And you’ll be supported by passionate colleagues along the way. Whatever your background, you can make a valuable and valued contribution, build confidence by getting involved and stepping outside of comfort zone

    In January 2021 we appointed our 80th Apprentice. This showcases the commitment of our colleagues to Never Stop Learning and our continued commitment to developing our future capabilities.

  • Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer

    This development opportunity aims to grow and develop talent within our Safety and Regulation function recognising the importance of the role that well designed and enforced regulation plays in improving the way markets work for the benefit of business, employees and citizens, supporting sustainable growth, trade and investment and improved social and environmental outcomes. Supporting our mission to improve aviation and aerospace for consumers and the public.

    Level 7 MSc in Aviation Safety Management, Risk and Regulation

    This unique postgraduate qualification considers the regulatory aspects of safety across the aviation industry, to deliver on the CAA's commitment to upskill the CAA's regulatory capability. The course aims to provide a globally unique offering that relates to the regulatory background of all aspects of safety in the design, production, operations, and maintenance in aviation. It also promotes safety management in a performance-based environment where risk-based oversight is practised by regulatory authorities within the UK and worldwide.

    Level 4 Data Fellowship

    Aims to create a foundation of knowledge, skills and behaviour within our data community. With our aspiration to become a data driven organisation, the fellowship aims to create tangible savings as a result of improvements made to automate existing data analysis tasks. Supporting improvements to our decision making, risk-based oversight, policy development as a result of new information created by utilising these new skills, tools and techniques.

    Level 7 Artificial Intelligence Data Specialist

    Continuing to grow our data capability and our ongoing commitment to improving aviation and aerospace for consumers and the public, this development opportunity aims to discover and devise new data-driven artificial intelligence solutions that use data to improve, automate and optimise business processes and to support, augment and enhance human decision-making. 

    Level 3 Aspiring Future Leaders

    This innovative and bespoke programme supports our commitment to growing our future leadership capability. An exclusive CAA cohort bringing together our colleagues to deliver modules that are linked to our values and real time business challenges. This development opportunity brings together the fundamentals of leadership, combining knowledge and behavioural learning through experiential learning.

    Level 5 Developing our Leadership Capability

    This development opportunity is currently offered to our existing People Managers, aiding them to refresh, develop and learn new skills, knowledge and behaviour. Through a range of experiential modules this development programme aims to develop our leadership capability, embedding our values and building effective and respected leaders.

    Level 7 Cranfield Executive MBA

    Especially designed for managers wanting to move into a senior management role and those on an identified development programmes, this development opportunity aims to develop strategic thinkers with sound leadership capabilities, strong financial skills, an intrapreneurial mind-set, global understanding and excellent people skills. Taking our managers out of their comfort zone and transform to reflect, question and find solutions to complex business challenges.

    Level 3 Business Admin

    We are proud to offer Level 3 Business Admin apprenticeships across a range of business functions. Apprentices undertaking this apprenticeship gain a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours which will stand them in good stead for their future career aspirations. In addition to learning how to develop, implement, maintain and improve high functioning administration services at the CAA, they will develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.

    Level 5 HR Consultant Partner

    To enable us to support and guide the organisation to achieve our Strategic Priorities and to support to the delivery of our People Strategy. Developing our HR expertise is essential. Providing and leading the delivery of HR solutions to business challenges, together with tailored advice to the organisation. 

    Level 3 Infrastructure Technician

    Growing our talent within the Information Services function, we offer this development opportunity to provide excellent technical support for a variety of different platforms and services, developing IT skills to support the growing function of information services within the CAA. Providing a range of industry recognised IT qualifications.

    Level 6 Professional Economist Degree

    Developing and growing our talent with our consumer market group, this development opportunity aims to develop future Professional Economists within the CAA. Developing our ability to produce rigorous, relevant and impactful economic analysis to drive decision-making at all levels - from operational decisions to strategic business and policy decisions. This apprenticeship offers upon completion an integrated degree which enables individuals to work across employers of professional economists in the private, public and third sectors.
