Potential Interference Risk to Radio Altimeters from 5G Mobile Technology

The purpose of this Safety Notice is to offer guidance and information for operators regarding potential interference to the operation of radio altimeters from 5G mobile technology.

Version 3 is published to clarify the revised domestic requirements when operating into the contiguous United States of America.

Version 4 is published to clarify the revised domestic requirements when operating into the contiguous United States of America, Canada and Brazil.

Version 5 is published to reflect the current airworthiness directive references and the status of third-party state safety information.  It has also been updated to highlight the specific association to higher powered public mobile networks in the 3.4-3.6GHz band.
