UK Civil Aviation Regulations

These are published by the CAA on our UK Regulations pages. EU Regulations and EASA Access Guides published by EASA no longer apply in the UK. Our website and publications are being reviewed to update all references. Any references to EU law and EASA Access guides should be disregarded and where applicable the equivalent UK versions referred to instead.

The CAA provides advice and assistance to the Secretary of State for Transport in respect of policy-making and the future evolution of the regulatory framework in accordance with Better Regulation principles.

Our work includes:

  • Developing detailed regulatory requirements and guidance to support UK aviation security policy
  • Preparing written guidance for industry in respect of the requirements laid on it under EU and UK legislation
  • Continual review of all aviation security directions and making recommendations to the Secretary of State as appropriate about amendments to them, or options for new directions
