The following are the requirements for the medical certification of aircrew, including guidance material issued by the UK CAA Medical Department in relation to the dermatology system.

Implementing Rules
Applicants shall be assessed as unfit, where they have an established dermatological condition which is likely to jeopardise the safe exercise of the privileges of the licence.
Acceptable Means of Compliance
CLASS 1 - AMC1 MED.B.085
- If doubt exists about the fitness of applicants with eczema (exogenous and endogenous), severe psoriasis, bacterial infections, drug induced or bullous eruptions or urticaria, the AME should refer the case to the medical assessor of the licensing authority.
- Systemic effects of radiant or pharmacological treatment for a dermatological condition should be reviewed before a fit assessment may be considered.
- In cases where a dermatological condition is associated with a systemic illness, full consideration should be given to the underlying illness before a fit assessment may be considered.
