Under UK Reg (EU) No 1178/2011 Annex IV Part-MED and UK Reg (EU) No 2015/340 Annex IV Part-ATCO.MED aeromedical examiners (AMEs) are required to refer holders of Class 1 and Class 3 medical certificates to the CAA for the removal of limitation codes, and to consult with the CAA about the removal of limitation codes from Class 2 medical certificates. This Decision permits AMEs to remove a number of routinely applied limitation codes from Class 1, 2 and 3 medical certificates without referring to or consulting with the CAA.
