CAA Decision amending Acceptable Means of Compliance and Guidance Material for UK Reg (EU) No. 965/2012 regarding Location of Aircraft in distress and Aircraft Tracking System.

AMC and GM needed to be developed to support the implementation of the requirements set out in UK Regulation (EU) 965/2012 CAT.GEN.MPA.210 Location of an aircraft in distress — Aeroplanes. Additionally, small changes to AMC/GM for CAT.OP.MPA.205 Aircraft Tracking are proposed; and terminology amendments to the AMC/GM regarding the equipping of aircraft with Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT), in Annex IV (Part-CAT), Annex VI (Part-NCC), Annex VII (Part-NCO) and Annex VIII (Part-SPO) to the Air OPS Regulation are proposed. Changes to the AMC/GM regarding the installation and use of new types of ELTs to comply with point CAT.GEN.MPA.210 are proposed.
