Recognition of Firearms and Explosives – Instructors' course

Successful completion of this course will enable instructors to design and deliver initial and recurrent training in the recognition of firearms, explosives and incendiary devices (RFX) for the RFX module of the relevant syllabuses. RFX instructors are required to renew knowledge by attending a refresher course at least every 36 months.

The duration is two days for the initial course or one day for the refresher.

For further information on applying for approval from the Department for Transport (DfT) to deliver the RFX Instructors course in accordance with the RFXI Syllabus, please contact the CAA at Avsec.Training@caa.co.uk

To apply to hold the RFX Identity Letter for instructors who will travel with inert training aids, please use the RFX application form.
