Exam timetables

Exam timetables for professional pilot exams at the CAA.

A list of confirmed dates for exams is available on our online e-exam system. When you log in and book an exam you will be able to choose from one of these dates.

The timetable below is a guide to dates on which you may be able to sit your exam. Some dates may be subject to change.

All CAA exams can be taken at venues listed in the timetable on this page.

Sessions and Sittings

A 'session' can last between 1 hour 5 minutes and 3 hours 45 minutes. You can choose to be examined on any subject within a session as long as the session is long enough. A ‘sitting’ is a 10 day period as defined in regulation FCL.0.25.

If you book exams that are split by a weekend, within a sitting, the system will incorrectly calculate your total number of sittings. Should this happen, you can continue to book your exams until the portal reaches 6 sittings.  When you are ready to book your final exam(s), if you know that the sittings calculation is incorrect due to being  ‘split by a weekend’, email FCL-eExams@caa.co.uk and we will book the exams on your behalf.

If attending an examination within the premises of your own training organisation (ATO), ensure that you comply with any local policies in addition to all CAA rules and procedures.
