The Cyber Security Team

Positioned within the Aviation Security directorate within the UK Civil Aviation Authority, the Cyber Security Team was established to provide effective and proportionate regulation cyber security risk to UK aviation industry.

The team has been developed to meet UK, European and International aviation regulatory obligations for cyber security.

We have created a regulatory framework that enables industry to demonstrate that appropriate risk management and mitigations are operating and effective across UK aviation.

Ensure UK aviation & aerospace takes an effective approach in the management of cyber security risks in order to continuously improve safety, security and resilience outcomes for the UK aviation & aerospace system.

Our Work

The CAA Cyber Security Oversight Strategy 2024-26 (CAP2976) describes the purpose of the CAA’s Cyber Security Oversight function and provides clarity for industry to underpin our regulatory role in both security and safety requirements.

The Cyber Security Policy Team lead the development of cyber security regulation across UK aerospace.

The Oversight Team is responsible for all cyber security oversight activity within any of the CAA regulatory domains.

The Certification Team ensure UK cyber security regulatory requirements are adhered to as part of initial applications or licences.
