This document provides guidance for applicants and examiners for the Instrument Rating (A) Skill Test (IRT). It also contains guidance for the En-Route Instrument Rating Skills Test (With effect from October 2026 the EIR ST will be removed and revert to Revalidation/Renewal Proficiency Checks only). Any changes to this implementation date will be communicated out to industry appropriately,

The information will help applicants prepare for the test, but it must be remembered that aspects mentioned here are of a general nature only and do not give precise details of every potential exercise or manoeuvre.
