Guidance for the Space Industry Act 2018 on the Civil Aviation Authority’s environmental review principles

When reviewing AEE’s submitted by spaceport and launch operator licence applicants, we must:

• take into account the AEE when deciding whether or not to grant a licence and what, if any, conditions should be attached; and
• take into account any environmental objectives set by the Secretary of State when exercising our regulatory functions

This guidance explains the approach to taking into account the AEE’s and the environmental objectives. We will undertake our review in accordance with the key principles outlined in this guidance.
