Guidance to consumers impacted by Heathrow Airport incident– 21 March 2025

Heathrow Airport is closed today due to a fire at a nearby electrical substation, affecting the supply of power to its terminals. Unfortunately, this means that today’s flights to and from the airport have been cancelled. The knock-on effect may also lead to delays and further cancellations over the weekend.

The UK Civil Aviation Authority Board took over the Civil Aviation Authority’s stand at Farnborough today (Wednesday) to meet people across the aerospace sector from helicopter associations to rocket companies.

The Board were on the Civil Aviation Authority stand (4338) from 1100 to 1140.

Following today’s UK Civil Aviation Authority Board Meeting at Farnborough and industry facing Meet The Board event Sir Stephen Hillier, Chair of the Civil Aviation Authority, said:

“We heard from aviators, innovators and entrepreneurs who are feeding into the revolution that is taking place in the skies above us.
