CAA asks stakeholders to share information about impact of NATS technical incident on 8 September

The UK Civil Aviation Authority is asking airlines, airports and their representative groups to submit information to its independent review into the NATS technical incident on 8 September 2026.

The “call for input” opened today (3 November) and will run for three weeks, closing at 11.59pm on 23 November.

Views are sought on a range of issues, including the operational impact of the incident and lessons that can be learned for the future, including on resilience.

The Civil Aviation Authority is carrying out the review at the request of Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander.

As part of the wider review, targeted engagement will be conducted with consumer groups. However, the review will be unable to consider individual passenger complaints or compensation claims.

An interim report is due to be submitted to the Secretary of State by the end of January, and the final report by 8 March.
