Re-Issue of Validity Periods Under Part-ORO Subpart FC

The CAA considered that there was an urgent operational need to permit Operators greater leeway for the calculation of those validity periods than is now permitted by ORO.FC.145 during transition to the new regime. Therefore, on 22 December 2025 the CAA issued General Exemption E6499 (published as ORS4 No.1642). However, Operators have been unable to use the flexibilities of the exemption for the purposes of Crew Resource Management (CRM) training requirements because ORO.FC.230(e) was unintentionally excluded from the original exemption. The CAA considers that there are compelling reasons to issue a new exemption that resolves this gap.
