Flight Data Recorders and Cockpit Voice Recorders - Helicopters

General Exemption from Article 37(2) and paragraph 4(16)(c)(i) of Schedule 4 of the Air Navigation Order 2009, regarding the need for helicopters with MTOW between 2,730 kg and 7,000 kg to carry flight data recorders and cockpit voice recorders. This exemption has been re-issued to allow current operations to continue but is being reviewed in line with proposed changes to the standards and in light of the publication of the Air Accident Investigation Report 3/2015 into the accident to Eurocopter (Deutschland) EC135 T2+, G-SPAO.
