This document provides an initial analysis of hydrogen refuelling and a fuel cell electric propulsion system.

The UK CAA has recognised that it needs to augment its safety risk assessment and management tools to deal with ever-increasing complexity of aviation systems.

With hydrogen aircraft approaching technological and operational readiness, the UK aviation system has an opportunity to look at the future systemic risks and build an optimal system by design.
