Flight Crew Reliance on Automation

Modern large transport aircraft have an increasing amount of automation and crews are placing a greater reliance on this automation. This Paper reviews previous research examining flight crew dependence on automation, inappropriate crew response to automation problems and changes in manual flying skills.
