This note has been prepared by the CAA as an aid to understanding by airport operators, airlines and other interested parties of the practical implications of the change from the current to the new framework for airport economic regulation set out in Part 1 of the Civil Aviation Act 2012.
The changes are significant and wide-ranging. They will have different impacts on those airports that are currently “non-designated” and those that are “designated”.
