This exemption allows the continued use of UK issued pilot licences and exercise of instrument privileges until 16 March 2020 by complying with the requirements of (EU) No.1178/2011 and allows training organisations to amend their manuals and procedures.

ORS4 No.1220: Exemption from the Requirement for Holders of FAA Pilot Licences Exercising Private Licence Privileges to Comply with the Conversion and Validation Requirements of Annex III to Regulation (EU) No. 1178/2011 as Amended
It explains that, whilst the final terms of EU-US bilateral aviation safety agreement (BASA) for mutual licence recognition are still under negotiation, affected FAA licence holders will be exempt from the need for full compliance with Annex III, subject to their satisfying certain criteria drawn from the current draft BASA.
