The CAA, through DAP, is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient use of UK airspace. In meeting this remit, DAP has traditionally ensured that segregated airspace structures are adequately separated from Air Traffic Service routes when considering Airspace Change Proposals (ACP). However, there is a requirement for a formal Safety Buffer Policy to be laid down for reference by organisations or individuals involved in the design of new or revised airspace arrangements.
