As the Chair of the CAA, I am clear that we must and will provide our full support to efforts to tackle the under-representation of women in aviation and aerospace. The CAA is therefore very proud to support the Women in Aviation and Aerospace Charter.

Our aim is to help ensure that both the current and all future generations of women can fully realise their potential in aviation, creating opportunities that are inclusive and engaging for all. That means not just encouraging more inclusive corporate cultures, but also developing talent across the entire enterprise and at every level.

At the CAA, we will have an inclusive organisational culture that is properly representative of the communities we serve: a 'CAA for All', where everyone can flourish and succeed. Since 2018 we have funded five educational organisations to help create career pathways in aviation for all young people. Our STEM affinity network builds on this work, bringing interested colleagues together to work as one team, providing support to schools and wider education.

Initiatives such as the Women in Aviation & Aerospace Charter are essential, not only to highlight the vital part which women already have in aerospace, but also to ensure that we are relentlessly focused on achieving more balance and representation across every aspect of aviation and aerospace. At the CAA, we will do all that we can to lead and enable delivery of this crucial outcome.
