Type ratings and the MEP class rating are valid for 12 months.
Class ratings such as the SEP and TMG are valid for 24 months.
If your rating will expire within three months, you can apply directly to take a proficiency
check at an ATO to have the rating revalidated, without having to take an assessment first.
Single Engine Piston, Touring Motor Glider and Flight Instructor ratings can be revalidated up
to 12 months in advance.
