UK Technical Standard Authorisations (UKTSOAs) are issued to ratify stand-alone approvals of articles (equipment).
These authorisations do not to be construed as an approval to install the equipment on an aircraft, but credit may be claimed from the equipment authorisation towards the showing of compliance with the aircraft Certification Specifications (CS) when certificating its installation.
The UK left the European Union aviation system on 31 December 2020, and as such is no longer part of European Union aviation institutions, including the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
EASA Technical Standard Order Authorisations (EASA TSOAs) valid up to this date are considered approved by the CAA and have not been published on the CAA website. Consult the TSOA holder for information on these design approvals.
Going forward, the equipment approvals issued by the CAA using UK CS-ETSO will be UKTSOAs and will be published on this page
