CAP1855: Amendments to the Aircrew regulation affecting pilot licence applicants, licence holders and training organisations
All training providers and applicants need to be aware that Amendment (EU) 2019/1747 to Commission Regulation (EU) 1178/2011, has been published, and came into effect on 11 November 2019.The main objective of the amended regulation is to resolve inconsistencies identified after the adoption of the FCL implementing rules.There are some significant changes affecting theoretical examinations, night rating course validity, IR requirements, instructor privileges and conditions, to name a few.

ORS9 - CAA Decision No.39: Decision amending Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) for UK Reg (EU) No 1178/2011 Annex IV Part-MED and UK Reg (EU) No 2015/340 Annex IV Part-ATCO.MED regarding the removal of specified medical limitation codes
Under UK Reg (EU) No 1178/2011 Annex IV Part-MED and UK Reg (EU) No 2015/340 Annex IV Part-ATCO.MED aeromedical examiners (AMEs) are required to refer holders of Class 1 and Class 3 medical certificates to the CAA for the removal of limitation codes, and to consult with the CAA about the removal of limitation codes from Class 2 medical certificates.

ORS4 No.1329: Requirement for Part FCL licence Holders to hold the Relevant Class or Type Rating when Revalidating or Renewing an Instrument Rating for an Aeroplane or Helicopter
This exemption allows the continued use of UK issued pilot licences and exercise of instrument privileges until 10th January 2020 by complying with the requirements of (EU) No.1178/2011 and allows training organisations to amend their manuals and procedures.
