The purpose of this exemption is to enable the extension of validity periods of theoretical knowledge examinations completed as part of training courses for pilot licences, ratings and certificates carried out in compliance with Part-FCL of the Aircrew Regulation.

This exemption is made redundant by the issue of ORS4 1464 which goes beyond it, providing assistance to individuals currently taking theory examinations and those who have completed theory examinations but not managed to complete the practical training.
