In a time of rapid technological advancement, the aviation and aerospace industry is no exception to the demand for innovative payment solutions that provide seamless, secure, and efficient transactions.

At the UK Civil Aviation Authority, we’re rolling out a new payment system to make payments easier for customers.

This new system will transform transactions to improve security, service and efficiency whilst ensuring the security of any payments made.

Improved customer service

Payment system changes means an improved customer journey when completing PDF application forms. The new service will enable customers completing a PDF application form to:

  • Submit and Pay for their application when a simple fee structure applies, using the GOV.UK Pay service
  • Submit their application when a calculated fee applies, with a subsequent email or text link to complete payment using Link Pay+

The changes also apply to ad-hoc payments.

For example, in an instance where a customer wishes to add more aircraft to a display request and pays by credit/debit card.

Increased efficiency

To ensure smooth operation of our new payment systems, we’ve began a phased launch this month covering payments related to aircraft registration and certification, organisation approvals, licensing assessment and flight crew licencing.

We have a full roll-out planned across the organisation by early 2024 to further improve the experience for our customers.
