EU exit

Please note that, in the event of UK participation in EASA and mutual recognition of licences and certificates ceasing, some CAA website content and application forms may continue to carry the EASA logo or reference the EU or EASA rather than the UK CAA in the short term.

These will be updated in due course following the outcome of the transition period negotiations on the long-term aviation relationship between the UK and the EU. In the meantime, the guidance provided and the application forms accessed via the CAA website portal will continue to be valid.

Secure courier service

For security purposes and peace of mind we strongly recommend that you have your documents returned to you by secure courier.

You can indicate on your application form whether you would like to use the secure courier service.

Charge

The courier charge will be added to the other charges for your application. Choosing the secure courier will mean that we will be able to offer a speedier service and track your package in the event of non-receipt.

The Courier Service Charges are as follows (Monday to Friday delivery only):

UK £20.00
Europe £30.00
Worldwide £40.00

Conditions of carriage

For the conditions of carriage please refer to the following:

The Royal Mail Special Delivery Service will only be used in the Scottish Highlands, Offshore Islands and Northern Ireland. This is because the delivery times are quicker than a Courier Service.

Opting out of the service

Should you decide not to use the courier option, then all documents will be returned by normal (Second Class) post. If the documents sent by normal post fail to arrive at your postal address, we will only be able to re-issue the CAA issued documents, 15 working days after the original date of despatch from our office. A written request and secure courier fee will also be required. CAA is not liable for any direct or consequential loss or delay that is caused by normal service.

Disclaimer

Please Note: The CAA is not liable for any direct or consequential loss or delay that is caused by the Secure Courier Service. Any damage to products received must be notified in writing to the CAA no later than 24 hours from the time of signing for the product(s). The damaged products(s) must be returned to the CAA no later than one week from the receipt and in return, CAA will reimburse the cost of postage. The CAA will assist with your claim from the secure courier service provider to recover your financial loss. Such claims will be limited to the price of replacement product(s) in line with the courier terms and conditions.
