Middle East and Cyprus travel advice

As a result of the ongoing situation in the Middle East and Cyprus, many flights to and from the region are cancelled.

This document sets out the CAA’s Final Decision on modifications to NATS (En Route) Plc’s ("NERL”) air traffic services licence in support of DfT’s and CAA’s decision to create a new UK Airspace Design Service. The document sets out:

  • the regulatory arrangements necessary to require NERL to create a UK Airspace Design Service, UK Airspace Coordination Service and administer an Airspace Design Support Fund;

  • the creation of an Airspace Design Charge so that NERL can recover the associated costs of these activities; and

  • the modifications are making to NERL’s air traffic services licence to implement these arrangements.

In support of our Final Decision, we have also published a spreadsheet model (CAP3225A) that presents cost projections and calculates charging outputs presented throughout this document.
