We undertook a series of consultations in autumn 2025 to support our commitment to the Government to both establish the UK Airspace Design Service and consult on improvements to the effectiveness and proportionality of our process for changing airspace.
- Consultation on the airspace change process (CAP 3157) closed 18 December 2025
- Consultation on draft guidance for the UK Airspace Design and Coordination Services (CAP 3158) closed 12 January 2026
- Consultation on the requirements for the UK Airspace Coordination Service and associated guidance (CAP 3159) closed 12 January 2026
- Statutory Consultation on the final proposals for modifying NERL's Licence to support the implementation of a UK Airspace Design Service (CAP 3164) closed 20 January 2026
The information document Modernising the way we do airspace design (CAP 3156) provided further information to support stakeholders responding to each consultation. We have updated this twice; the current version is the third edition.
