• When applying to continue your examination series with the UK CAA, the exams already taken with another National Aviation Authority (NAA) must be verified by the NAA that issued them.

Successful verification of your NAA exams is required for eventual UK CAA licence issue.

Candidates may book and take their exams with the CAA (providing they have an active account and ATO membership) whilst obtaining this verification to prevent any time restraints.

The examinations taken at another NAA must be in full compliance with all part sections of Part-FCL.025 and the verification provided by the NAA must contain the series start date, sitting and attempt numbers along with individual exam pass dates.

Under no circumstances we can accept an application where the ICAO examinations have expired.

How to get copies of your documents certified

Getting your ICAO theoretical examinations verified

The verification process is divided into three stages:

    Stage 1

You submit your application and we will process your request within our current turnaround times which is usually 10 working days from the date of receipt of a complete application.
In this stage we contact the NAA that issued your ICAO theoretical knowledge examinations to request the release of your exam details.

    Stage 2

The NAA must then contact the UK CAA directly to provide the verification of your ICAO exam details. The NAA will confirm the exam details are current and valid, and are not under any pending or enforcement action.

The NAA should send this information to fcl-eexams@caa.co.uk

For security and to help prevent fraud, the CAA will only accept the verification of your exam details directly from the NAA that issued your results.

    Stage 3

Once we receive this verification it will be added to your records and it will remain valid until you have completed your remaining exams with the UK CAA.
