These guidance notes provide information about the requirements to be met to obtain authorisation to sign the Form 170A - Certificate of training and competence for the Professional Pilot Licence and/or Instrument Rating for candidates who wish to qualify for the grant of a helicopter instrument rating. They also give guidance about how to conduct the Form 170A competency test.
