The report describes the development and preliminary evaluation of a new GPS-guided helicopter offshore approach procedure. The project comprised piloted simulation trials to evaluate the 'flyability' of the procedure, a safety assessment covering both the 'success' and 'failure' cases, light trials to collect geostationary satellite (EGNOS) reception data, and an assessment of likely system availability.
