This report describes an investigation into methods for dealing with in-flight lithium battery fires in portable electronic devices. The first phase of the investigation looks at the effectiveness of fire extinguishers on representative battery fires. Subsequent stages look at battery packs in representative devices and devices stored in cloth bags.
