Where the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has made a decision or issued a proposal which affects you, you may be entitled to appeal against it or to ask for a review.
Independent review of Part-66 assessment outcome
For individuals applying for a Part-66 licence that has been rejected following an assessment by an Airworthiness surveyor, you have the right to request an independent review of your application by another surveyor if you disagree with or wish to challenge the outcome.
Details of the review are provided to the applicant alongside the outcome of the surveyor assessment, at which time you will have 10 working days to request the independent review be undertaken.
Please note that the review will be based on the original submission only, and no additional experience or evidence will be considered to support the review where such shortfalls constituted the original reason(s) for rejection. Where the application is reviewed and the original assessment decision is upheld, the entire fee paid will be forfeit and the application rejected. If the independent reviewer finds in your favour, the application will be accepted, and the licence issued.
Should you decline a review, or the outcome of the review not find in your favour, you will be required to reapply in full for the service requested. Only one independent review can be conducted per application, and no review will be considered outside of the 10 working days window
