South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd - ATOL 4619 has ceased trading on 20/07/2020.

The company, which was based in Essex, traded under the names Smile Group Travel and South Quay Travel & Leisure and website www.southquaytravel.com.

The information below applies only to ATOL protected bookings.  ATOL only protects bookings which include flights, so if your booking did not include a flight click on this link to access ABTA's website www.abta.com.

ATOL protected consumers are those that booked an ATOL protected flight inclusive package protected by South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd.

Your ATOL Certificate will say 'Package Single Contract' or 'Package Multi-Contract' in the bottom right hand corner.  South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd's ATOL number 4619 will also be shown in the box to the left of this.    

Bookings made through South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd with another tour operator

South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd also sold other ATOL holders' package holidays.  These will NOT be affected by South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd's failure.  You need to contact the tour operator named on your paperwork or ATOL Certificate (listed on your ATOL certificate under “Who is protecting your trip”). 

Consumers with package bookings

If you had a flight inclusive booking with South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd or received a document entitling you to a rebooking and/or a refund at a later date because your original flight inclusive booking was cancelled by South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic please follow the instructions below: 

Package bookings made directly with South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd, including those cancelled as a consequence of the Covid-19 Pandemic

If you paid for your original trip to South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd entirely by credit card

If you paid for your original trip by credit card to South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd by credit card, please reclaim this payment from your credit card issuer pursuant to Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, using the credit card referral below. 

If you paid for your original trip to South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd by credit card and other methods

If you made any payment to South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd by credit card, please reclaim this payment and all the other payments you made, including payments by cheque, debit card, bank transfer, from your credit card issuer pursuant to Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, using the credit card referral below.

If you are a travel agent of South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd and you are currently holding consumer payments which you have not yet paid to South Quay Travel & Leisure Ltd, you are advised not to refund consumers with these funds until you have received instructions from the Air Travel Trust.

The UK CAA has the power to prosecute offences related to its statutory functions. Person(s) who make fraudulent ATOL claims, following the failure of an ATOL holder, may be prosecuted by the UK CAA for offences under section 1 of the Fraud Act 2006. The maximum sentence for this offence is 10 years' imprisonment.
