FAQ Answer

FAQ Answer

Annual Accountants' Reports

Why do I have to provide these reports?

We require an external accountant to provide independent confirmation of the level of licensable business you have previously reported under your ATOL.

What is the difference between reports based on the CAA agreed model engagement terms and one that isn’t?

The reports based on the CAA agreed model engagement terms limit your accountants’ liability if your firm fails and the passenger numbers/turnover confirmed by them have been under-reported. Either set of reports are acceptable. Guidance Note 10 - Advice for Accountants provides more detail.

What period should the Annual Accountants’ Reports cover?

If you hold a SBA the Annual Accountants' Reports should be provided in respect of licensable business conducted under your ATOL during the licence period that ended on 31 March 2013.

For all other types of ATOL where an Annual Accountants’ Report is required they should be in respect of licensable business conducted under your ATOL during the four calendar quarters ended immediately prior to your last financial year end.
