Additional requirements for the importation of aircraft to the UK

The CAA has determined that some aircraft types are required to meet Additional Requirements for Importation (ARIs) prior to the issue of a Certificate of Airworthiness (CofA).

  • CAP 562, Leaflet  11-46 defines the acceptance standards for imported aircraft for which a UK CofA is sought.
  • CAP 747, Generic Concession 1, Generic Concession 1 addresses the granting of a concession against the immediate effect of an Additional Requirement on operators wishing to apply for a UK CofA.

Applications for a concession in respect of an ARI are considered on an individual basis and should be directed to the Aircraft Certification Department.

If a concession is required upon application for a CofA, please advise the Applications and Approvals Department.
