Letter of Consultation: Proposed use of AUTO METARs for the production of TAFs and LAFS in the UK

5 October 2007

This letter provides details on the proposed implementation of Amendment 74 to ICAO Annex 3: Meteorological Service for International Air Navigation.  It outlines the proposed policy for the provision of AUTO METARs and their use for the production of TAF.

Letter of Consultation: proposed changes to the UK Meteorological Observing and Forecast Arrangement7 September 2007This letter provides details on the proposed implementation of Amendment 74  to ICAO Annex 3: Meteorological Service for International Air Navigation.  It outlines the changes along with the proposals of how they are to be implemented in the UK.
Amendment of the Air Navigation Order 2005 for the purpose of improving the technical interoperability of all aircraft in UK airspace29 August 2006The objective of this proposal was to create an aircraft operating environment that would improve safety through-out UK airspace.
Consultation on the revised Airspace Change Process7 July 2006The purpose of the consultation was to seek views on a review of the Airspace Change Process.
DAP ATSOCAS Consultation11 December 2005The aim of this paper was to initiate formal development of a  Statement of User Requirement, which we could then progress into forming the foundation for any further refinement and development of ATSOCAS.
Introduction of Class C Airspace above FL195 and VFR Access Regulations 8 November 2005The CAA proposed to amend Section 2 - The Rules of the Air Regulations 1995 of CAP 393 - Air Navigation: The Order and the Regulations.  The amendment was necessary to introduce VFR access requirements to Class C airspace above FL195 and for flight along an ATS route notified as Class C airspace at any level.
Consultation on the transfer of the design of Instrument Flight procedures to Industry24 June 2005The purpose of this consultation pack was to consult on the method by which the CAA would transfer the IAP design task to industry and how the CAA intended to regulate that industry.
Letter of Consultation: Introduction of 8.33lHz Radio Channel Spacing in UK airspace above FL19531 December 2004The CAA is minded to propose the introduction of 8.33kHz channel spacing from 31 October 2006, in UK airspace above FL195 and in specified terminal control arease where the redio equipage is already high.  The further expansion of 8.33kHz channel spacing into other designated controlled airspace will be the subject of separate consultation at a later date.
