With regard to input to the EASA rulemaking activity, one of the representatives for ACI Europe comes from a UK aerodrome. By being on the rulemaking group, this industry representative has been able to represent the UK industry perspective at rulemaking meetings. The CAA has also put across the UK aerodromes' views during rulemaking activities. We are also working with key industry stakeholders to ensure that UK aerodromes are not disadvantaged by the new regulations in any way.
The CAA provides regular EASA updates to the Airport Operators Association which, in turn, keeps its members updated on developments. In the future, the CAA will use various additional methods to discuss the changes with industry including dedicated seminars. Once the conversion process and rules are confirmed, individual aerodromes will be involved in discussions with the CAA about how the EASA rules apply to their aerodrome and what will be required to convert the CAA licence into an EASA certificate.
