Discharge of Aircraft Mortgage
To discharge a mortgage from the UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages please complete form CA1577c Discharge of Aircraft Mortgage. This form can be completed online but must be printed, signed by or on behalf of the mortgagee and then submitted to the Aircraft Registration section together with the deed of discharge or any other document which shows the mortgage has been completed by the mortgagee.
Once printed and signed all documentation can be submitted as a scanned document via email to firstname.lastname@example.org .If all the relevant information has been submitted as scanned documents there is no requirement to send in hard copy originals.
There is no fee for the discharge of an aircraft mortgage.
Once a mortgage discharge is entered on the UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages, Aircraft Registration will inform all parties concerned with the mortgage by email or letter in accordance with our Service standards.
Mortgages are deemed to have been discharged from the date and time of receipt by the CAA (subject to the opening hours of the UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages, 10:00 - 16:00 weekdays) and not when the mortgage itself was completed.
If the existence of a registered mortgage is delaying the re-registration of an aircraft the mortgagee may give their consent in writing to the CAA to allow the aircraft re-registration to take place prior to the formal discharge of the mortgage. This can be done by email, letter or fax by or on behalf of the Mortgagee direct to the Aircraft Registration section of the CAA.
