Information for aircraft owners

The CAA is responsible for maintaining:-

  • The UK Register of Civil Aircraft
  • The UK Register of Aircraft Mortgages
  • The Registers of Births, Deaths and Missing Persons on UK Registered Aircraft

Other responsibilities include:-

  • Monitoring compliance with the legislative requirements for minimum levels of insurance on aircraft
  • Provision of information and statistics from the registers and the databases used to support them

The section is staffed weekdays between 09:00 and 17:00 and is open to personal callers at CAA House between 10:00 and 16:00.  By prior arrangement, the section is available to carry out certain transactions, such as de-registrations or new registrations, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
