You will be able to renew your medical certificate by attending for an examination with your AME. You will notice a change to the way the expiry date is calculated compared to revalidation; your medical certificate will be valid for 1 or 2 years from the exact date of the examination. The certificate will be valid until an exact calendar date rather than until the end of the month. The same applies if you have your medical examination prior to 45 days before your medical certificate is due to expire. This is called an early renewal.
