FAQ Answer

FAQ Answer

Which planning applications from local authorities does the CAA need to approve?

The CAA does not routinely receive consultations about planning applications, but planning authorities are entitled to ask advice about them whenever they wish. Furthermore, there are some special circumstances in which planning authorities are obliged to contact the CAA. Further information, including guidance on CAA planning consultation requirements, can be found on the Aerodrome Safeguarding web page. Any enquiries from local authorities about planning matters should be referred in the first instance to the Aerodrome and Air Traffic Standards Division via email: aerodromes@caa.co.uk.
