CAA ONLINE PORTAL ISSUES

Our Portal Service has been affected by issues in the Microsoft Azure Environment. Microsoft Engineers continue to investigate these problems.

This interruption in Microsoft services to the CAA will delay the release of Examination results for Flight Crew scheduled on the 21st November 2014. Results will be released as soon as the Microsoft service is fully restored.

A variety of private pilot licences are available based on your skills and experience and the type of flights you wish to undertake.

Extra ratings can be added and most licences require a certain amount flying over a set time to maintain their currency. All pilots require some form of medical certificate or declaration. 

Foot Launched Powered Hang-gliders and Para-gliders, or Paramotors (that meet certain criteria) and Unpowered Hang-gliders and Para-gliders do not require a licence from the CAA.
