Guidance on making variations to an existing BCAR approval
A national approval, issued under the Air Navigation Order and covers design, manufacture, certification, maintenance, continuing airworthiness management and flight testing of aircraft excluded from European Council Regulation (EC) 216/2008, as amended, including those aircraft listed in Annex II (commonly referred to Non-EASA aircraft).
Removing ratings or facilities from an existing approval
You can remove ratings and facilities here provided that these are the only changes you are making to the approval. There is no charge for this service but you will need to provide a copy of your amended exposition.
Change of Nominated Postholder or Accountable Manager
Changes to the key personnel in an organisation must be notified to CAA. You can add or remove/change the details of one or several people, including identifying their role(s) and the types of approval(s) they have responsibility for, by completing the Change of Accountable Manager or Nominated Postholder form. This form caters for both EASA approvals as well as BCAR (national) approvals. There is no charge for changes of personnel.
Change of Address
In cases where an organisation holds more than one approval and requires to make an application for a change of address which will affect each approval held, you can complete the change of address form which will cater for both EASA and BCAR approvals. (You will need to provide a copy of your amended expositions).
The organisation must already hold an approval issued by the CAA under the Air Navigation order.
Correctly completed applications will be processed, acknowledged and passed to the Regional Office for investigation within 10 working days.
Approval certificates will be processed and dispatched within 20 working days following receipt of a recommendation from a CAA regional office.
Requests to change open applications should be discussed with Applications and Approvals (A&A) in the first instance. In some cases a new application may be required. Please note that once the regional office has started the investigation, changes to the application cannot be considered.
