If you are travelling abroad, you may need vaccinations when visiting certain countries. You should make an appointment with your GP or practice nurse, to discuss where you are travelling to and which vaccinations you will need. You will need to let them know well in advance when you are travelling (what season) and for how long.

For some vaccinations a certificate of immunisation may be required and you should also confirm this with your GP or nurse.

Further information is available from your GP or NHS Direct.

If you are travelling in Europe the European Health Insurance Card may entitle you to free or reduced cost medical care.
